Both men and women feel bad when they see a nice person get hurt. But they react differently to someone who has been mean and cruel. Women still feel some pity for a cruel person. Men, however, stop feeling bad for them and instead feel a bit of satisfaction, like they are getting revenge.

This might be why female judges let evil people be released into the street even with evidence that they feel no remorse. And probably why the more power women have, the less punishment evil people get.
